Hello Nairalanders, What's good? Today, I'll be sharing with you how to remove background or white noise from a vocal recording in fl studio 20.

When I started learning the strings of music production and mixing and mastering, as an artist, I was only learning those because I needed to record myself and do my stuffs how I want it and when I want it, one of the challenges I faced then which was just early this year when I bought a condenser mic from Jumia for Five thousand naira (#5,000) was that the mic is picking a lot of background noise. This one issue really disturbed me, I had to return the mic and ask for a refund and I didn't know I could tame it.

If you are here as a music producer or you just want to record yourself just as I wanted to then I must say you're exactly where you are supposed to be right now.

Welcome to the No 1. Entertainment Brand in Nigeria and Africa. Here on StuDio JimmY Music, we strive to provide valid information for upcoming artists seeking for limelight, be a part of their journey, inspire them, teach them and learn from them.

No one will listen to a song that is poorly recorded, it doesn't even sound nice in the ear. On thing you can do to remove the white noise or at least reduce it to the minimal level is what you're going to be learning today. I remember after my experience with the mic, I listened to one of my friends who is also an artist and discovered there is actually a white noise in the recording of his song though the mixing engineer tried to remove it but it didn't go completely, I could hear the sharp frequencies caused by what the mixing engineer did when removing the noise though a normal person wouldn't notice it.

Removing white noise or background noise as you may call it using fl studio is something one need to be careful with in order not to spoil the whole mix, this process is very important in the mixing. If you're ready to learn this process that you can use to get rid of this white noise in your vocal recording then come with me.

Nice one bro, do you also produce beats, Melody's etc. I just got all my studio equipments but it's a bit tough creating Melody's etc, I just use my intuition sometimes but I just download Beats online and sing to it. If you have a blog that explains it all I will be glad.

Yes i create beats too, i do literally everything concerning music and the music business. You can check out my blog at https://studiojimmymusic.com.ng though i don't have posts explaining how to create melodies for now but since you need it i'll sure create a post on that and you can also use MIDI files to create melodies though you still need to know how to do it. Where is your location?

Midi files, I do see them inside FL studio but don't really know how to use them, I watched a video on YouTube how to use your vocals to make melodies but haven't tried it. You will need to sing into Edison and one other plugin and export it to your piano roll but you know music isn't all about one sound, you need at least 5 Melody sounds to make your music, from the intro to the chorus, I don't want to use loops although might be necessary but just want to learn beat and Melodyproduction myself. Making beat might be a beat easy for using melodys etc. I stay in between Ikorodu but not around at the moment.

Thats my equipments I got for now. I haven't really started recording via vocals because I still need to learn making beats firstly. I don't have a vocal booth cos someone said it's not needed because he said the condenser microphone I got is ok. Do you think I need the vocal booth? I can't pad the room am staying now cos I am not at ma place. Do I need the booth or the condenser mike is enough to give me a good sound even though I remove the white noise?

I am using MacBook pro 8gig ram, 32keys keyboard, a condenser mike, inside the mike is the filter, Mike etc. A Beringer audio interface, studio monitor and headphone. Do you think I still need to get other things. I am producing myself not opening a studio, just want to make it myself and enjoy my own music. I intend to go into the music industry later this year but I want to learn the basics firstly and not rushing myself. I haven't really recorded or set it up yet, I am still using the system and headphone to create beats for now. So I haven't really recorded but I do make some music myself by playing a beat on an mp3 Bluetooth speaker and I put on recording app on my phone so both goes into the recording on the phone. I have made about 50 songs with that. Singing is very easy for me to be honest, if I listen to any beat the flow will just come. Not hyping myself but that's the truth bro.

No need for that for now, i think you should start first and see how it goes. You can remove the white noise with Izotope RX7 though you have to be careful so that you dont over do it and make the vocal sound unnatural.

If you actually can afford those equipment why can't you find some change and give to professionals instead of you wasting times learning your self.
